Tia Mowry’s Tips for Curly Hair Extensions
Clip in Bangs
Measure extensions to desired length and cut. Sew clips to edge of hair extensions. Try to purchase extensions that match your own hair’s texture.
Use bounce back curl cream to wet down curls. Brush through the hair, and allow to air dry overnight. If you are in a hurry you can always use a diffuser to dry the extensions.
Layer the clips in one at a time, clipping each track slightly above the one before it, until you reach the desired look and fullness.
Accessorize with a fun scarf! Tie the scarf around your head, knotting on top.
Buy a synthetic braid at a local beauty supply store. Slick your natural hair into a high ponytail and secure. Attach the braid to your ponytail with the attached rubber band. Wet down natural hair with curl enhancing spray.
Separate out a small section of synthetic hair and leave out for later.
Section natural hair and synthetic hair into 3 separate pieces. Loosely braid, camouflaging natural hair underneath the synthetic. Secure at the bottom with a rubber band and pull the braid slightly apart to create volume.
Wrap the extra piece of hair around the base of your ponytail, and secure with a bobby pin.
100% Human Hair Wig
Prep your natural hair for the wig with a pattern depending on how long you’d like to wear the wig. For short term wear, use this anchor braid.
Part hair down the middle and clip sections back for control.
Section out two thin rows of hair on either side of the part at the front hairline. The first row will be used to blend natural hair in with the wig, while the second is used to create an anchor braid.
Tie back the remaining hair and tuck into a tan colored stocking cap that mimics the color of your scalp.
Clip the wig onto the anchor brands and blend edges!
